Mimi is taken from various canon points depending on the meme. He's also from ancient Egypt, and I'm obviously not. I'm doing research and will try to keep learning, but if you see a mistake in that regard, please let me know.

HISTORY
Please note that anything marked with a ** is headcanon. I will use this sparingly and only when canon lacks details. Weaknesses are combined with Abilities for those looking to get a leg up.

The story is still ongoing, but his current history can be found here.

MEDICAL
Physically, Mimi is a very strong and healthy young man. Mentally, he likely suffers from PTSD as noted by another character.

PERSONALITY
Please note that the following will have passing mentions of attempted sexual assault

TDLR; stubborn, rude, sensitive, damaged, more than he seems, a kind, caring, and fair ruler willing to be hated if it means saving his people

Because of his circumstance, Mimi often plays the role of a 'perverted tyrant'. Cruel, stubborn, unyielding, selfish, and impatient, there are few positive traits to be found. Often inclined to meter out death sentences to prisoners and impose his dominating will upon others, he inspires fear and some degree of resentment, yet he also manages to fulfill his duties as king. When his people need food or other supplies, Mimi distributes whatever is required. Even his cruel actions are often for secondary reasons. The cruel act of killing a man for simply complaining was the murder of a man who was a danger to the people but too important to the church to send through proper channels. Likewise, he calls out the church for stealing the rations meant for the citizens.

While a large portion of the persona is an act, there are similarities between the mask and the real person. Mimi is a man of pride, deriving much of it from traditionally masculine traits. Standing tall with evident muscularity, he exudes confidence most obviously in physical confrontations. He isn't weak, nor does he look down on those without these characteristics, but his strength enables him to safeguard his loved ones and defeat his enemies, tasks that often go hand in hand. A clear illustration of this arises when Mimi catches wind of rumors concerning his romantic life. He's annoyed to hear his friends included in his life of make-believe lovers, but his annoyance becomes explosive when gossip suggests he occupies the submissive role.

Though this wasn't always the case, Mimi's current demeanor betrays traces of his past, which significantly shaped his personality. During his childhood, Mimi was forced to masquerade as a girl so that his royal lineage wouldn't pose a threat to the crown while also caring for his ailing mother. Consequently, Mimi developed the ability to manage his own hair and apply his own makeup, skills typically not associated with royalty. This also honed his power of observation, as evidenced when he noticed his love interest's reluctance to eat which he addressed by coercing him into a meal while still maintaining his tyrannical guise.

Since we never see any shame surrounding this period of his childhood, and he never looks down on friends with overtly feminine characteristics, his aversion to these characteristics applies only to himself for their perceived inability to rescue his mother or assist him in seeking retribution.

While capable of playing the role necessary to save his people from the oppressive religious cults, Mimi nonetheless enjoys the rare moments that permit him to embrace a more positive demeanor. When Li's plans involve a speech to the people promising Mimi's protection and their deliverance from a common enemy, the king smiles in a way that's both genuine and warm. For what is likely the first time, he's allowed the opportunity to address his people and openly offer hope rather than simply working for their welfare behind the scenes.

But, Mimi's kindness extends beyond the reach of public scrutiny. In his free time, Mimi tries to blend in with the others working in the castle and feels more comfortable dropping his persona. In this freedom, his kindness blossoms, and we even see him offering to teach someone to read, without any expectation of personal gain. This becomes most apparent around Li though more for being the POV character than his eventual love interest. Even before the attraction is fully formed, he convinces Li to eat through a depressive episode, assures he dries properly after getting wet, and even tries to assuage his guilt over the kill Li makes in defense of the king.

When it comes to intelligence, Mimi's capabilities fluctuate, with instances of astuteness juxtaposed with moments of stupidity, with the latter being particularly evident in his interactions within relationships. Mimi harbors a genuine belief in his ability to conceal his identity from the main character during a mission, despite his unique appearance, and misses every hint that he's been discovered, going insofar as to write a fake letter from himself. However, though not regarded as one of the masterminds within the narrative, Mimi shows proficiency in participating in and executing strategic planning. While being in disguise during said missions, Mimi follows along well enough to avoid blowing his cover - beyond the aforementioned love interest.

At the core of his character is his ability to do what needs to be done, embodying a resolute determination to see things through to completion. From playing the role of tyrant to playing the role of servant to killing his own brother, Mimi focuses on his mission and doesn't allow his will to waver no matter the hardship. When he discovers Sutter's betrayal, the king acknowledges the task before him and its difficulty, but he doesn't stop until he's avenged his people. In some ways, his iron-will determination is even greater than his physical strength.

Despite Mimi's considerable strength, he's also weak. Although his pride is an obvious flaw, he can cast it aside when faced with dire circumstances. His 'ability that needs to be done' fails at emotional vulnerability. The king might display surprising openness at times, yet the events of his past have led to protective barriers around his innermost emotions, especially regarding romance. His affection for Li is unmistakable, yet he stubbornly resists acknowledging the budding love until he can no longer deny his feelings though this isn't simply a display of pride. His own attack during childhood has twisted Mimi's perception of intimacy, and he fears following through on his emotions will simply hurt the person he loves.

APPEARANCE
Standing at 6'5 and weighing 198.4 pounds, Mimi is a tall, very muscular man who's particular about his appearance. His hair is very long and dark brown; his eyes are noted to be a particularly nice golden color. His complexion is a reflection of his Egyptian heritage.

As is befitting of his climate, his clothing is light, airy, and usually opened a various points. Mimi is the king and the outfit he wears when in 'ruler mode' is very ornate and decorative. His normal clothing is a bit more modest by comparison.

As is common in his world, he also wears eyeshadow.

ABILITY Combat

Mimi is known for his frightening strength and skill in combat. He most often uses swords, but even when only using his hands, his raw power is difficult for normal humans to beat. He also has very good aim with a knife.

WARNINGS
Dark content. Click to expand

ATTEMPTED SEXUAL ABUSE OF A MINOR/INCEST - Mimi was nearly raped by his half-brother as a child. While he was saved, the resulting trauma led to a fear of being touched (on and off; the series isn't consistent with it, tbh). It's very unlikely that he'll discuss this, but touch will remain a trigger point.

SLAVERY/POWER IMBALANCE/ABUSE OF POWER - While it isn't the forefront of the story, See You, My King deals with a lot of corrupt nobles. It isn't unusual to have these men abuse their power over the servants. Mimi doesn't and isn't for the practice, but it's such a widespread thing that he won't think to give it a comment should the discussion warrant it.

If you wish to opt-out of interactions with Mimi, please comment here. If you want to leave a note, please feel free, but an explanation isn't required. For those interested in tagging with him but would prefer to avoid the topics discussed above, I'll do my best to work around them.
